Programs also offer advice on nutrition, recovery techniques, mental training strategies and race preparation. All athletes are expected to train with a heart-rate monitor and keep a daily training journal. Each athlete should budget to undertake TRIO blood lactate testing approximately every 12-16 weeks to monitor progress and gains. Lactate testing fees ($195 single sport and $375 Bike & Run) are NOT included in the coaching program fees below. Athletes who are not local to Gareth will be asked to find a lab local to them who can test them or to invest in a simple lactate analyzer for home testing. Month 1 on each program is subject to an additional $100 season planning and consulting fee.
